How we use your information
We use the information that we collect about you for the following purposes:
to contact you regarding your application and to facilitate the volunteering process.
to provide and improve the services requested.
to maintain the volunteer relationship with you.
to contact references, if necessary.
to get in touch with your emergency contact person in case of an emergency during a volunteer session.
Who we share your information with
We will not, under any circumstances, share or sell your personal information with any third party for their own marketing purposes, and you will not receive marketing from any other companies, charities or other organizations as a result of giving your details to us.
Please be aware that, to the extent required to provide our services, we may share your Information with volunteer coordinators, board members, and directors. We may also share your e-mail address with other volunteers on your shift or team.
Your rights regarding your information
You have the right to request to view your data, request it be amended or corrected, and request it be removed from our system:
You have the right to withdraw your consent to our processing of your personal information at any time, and the right to request that the personal information we hold about you be modified at any time.
Similarly, you can request that we permanently remove all personal information that we currently hold about you, by e-mailing us. Once we are notified, we will action your request within a reasonable timeframe.You can also choose not to provide us with some of the personal information we request, though this may result in us being unable to provide you with all of our services.
Subscriptions to our newsletters and opportunity alerts are optional. In each newsletter, we provide instructions regarding how to opt out (unsubscribe) from receiving future newsletter mailings. You can change your subscription preferences through the unsubscribe link in the newsletter or by e-mailing us at email@example.com.
How long we'll keep your information
We will only store your personal information for as long as necessary for the purposes for which it was collected, or a related or ancillary purpose.
We may delete your personal information after a reasonable period of time and, if you have not used our services for some time, you may have to re-enter or re-supply your personal information to us.
At times, we may need to retain your information for a longer period where we need the information to comply with regulatory or legal requirements or where we may need it for our legitimate purposes. If we don’t need to retain information for this period of time, we may destroy, delete or anonymise it more promptly.
We welcome volunteers of all ages, including children under the age of 13. We strongly encourage our volunteers aged 13 and under to use our services only with parental consent and supervision.
